Heather Shalayko is a Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Lactation Counselor. Heather has a Bachelors of Science in Wellness, Health Promotion, and Injury Prevention from Oakland University and she is currently completing her Masters Degree. Heather has worked in the health and wellness field for over 12 years in the community, government, institutional, private and non-profit sectors. Heather is a mom to two beautiful girls and loves the outdoors. Heather and her husband Steve both grew up and graduated from Oxford High School and she is so happy to be back here, as a small business owner.
Heather is looking forward to bringing her experience teaching mindfulness, nutrition, and various physical activity programs to the Simple Organics community. One of her favorite programs she teaches is Cooking with Kids, a family based nutrition program. “I have found that when families learn together, they’re much more likely to make those healthy behavior changes and be successful together.” Heather wants Simple to continue to be a staple for health and wellness in the community and move toward an overall wellness center. Simple Organics will have biweekly breastfeeding hours starting in October where new moms and expecting moms can come in, sip on some tea, and get breastfeeding support for free. When Heather had her two daughters she struggled to find breastfeeding support. Heather wants to change that and support new moms to successfully breastfeed for as long as they want to!

Dr. Farwell is a Doctor of Natural Medicine, Master Herbalist, and Registered Ayurvedic Practitioner. Dr. Farwell has been in private practice for over a decade and has seen thousands of clients with weight loss and management needs. He is the director and founder of OM Wellness Institute, a virtual school that specializes in training future wellness practitioners.
Additionally, Dr. Farwell has spent the last several years putting together a weight loss program that focuses on the individual and strives to bring that person to a state of health and balance. Dr. Farwell believes these two key ingredients are the missing ingredients to the majority of weight loss programs available today. According to Dr. Farwell, “When the body is no longer in crisis mode and gets back into balance, the body will be open to sustained weight loss. Most diets focus on the program theory not the individual and not getting them to a place where they can and will lose weight naturally.”
